Should I strictly follow the brewing instructions for blends and premium teas?

Blends: We encourage you to experiment with the quantity of tea leaves and the length of the steep time to find your desired brew strength. Varying the water temperature isn't recommended, as water that is too hot will over-extract the bitter components of tea, while water that is too cool might not fully draw out the aromas and flavors of tea.

Premium: We highly recommend that our customers strictly follow the instructions for an optimal experience.  

What are natural flavourings and artificial flavourings?

In some of our tea blends, we use natural and artificial flavourings. These might include extracts, essential oils or using different flavours to simulate another taste entirely. Natural and artificial flavors are much more alike than most people realize. In either case, the flavors are combinations of tiny chemical elements, and a lot more chemistry than anything else.

We appreciate that there is an opinion in the industry that flavourings shouldn’t be used in teas, which we wholeheartedly disagree with. We continually push ourselves to innovate and create first-to-market blends that our customers praise and appreciate. However, as we focus on blending teas for all sorts of people, lifestyles and situations, many of our teas have no flavourings in them at all. 

What percentage of flavourings are used in each blend?

Tea is hygroscopic, meaning it is very susceptible to flavours. The amount of flavoring needed to flavor tea is small — less than or equal to 4%. 

Are your premium teas organic?

Yes. Ahista Tea strives to source teas and ingredients that are organically grown wherever possible. 

Under what conditions should I store my teas?

Store in a cool, dry place. It must be kept away from light, moisture, heat and oxygen. By following these steps, it will ensure that your teas will remain fresh for 6-12 months upon receiving your package. 

How many cups of tea will 100 grams make?

You should expect 40-45 cups for 100 grams of tea purchased with the added benefit of multiple steeps. But this can vary for each tea. 

Are your teas suitable for vegans?

Most of our teas are suitable for vegans. However, one of our tea blends includes yogurt bites which will not be vegan friendly (ie. Mango Lassi)

Has my order gone through successfully?

If you have received a confirmation email then your order has been received by Ahista Tea and will be processed.

How can I track my order?

Once your order has been placed you shall receive a confirmation email with a tracking number.

Can I change my order once it is placed?

To change or cancel an order, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. Orders are shipped by 4pm on the day after being placed and once dispatched will not be able to be changed or canceled. We can be reached by email at orders@ahistatea.com

Is my personal information kept safe?

Yes. Ahista Tea does not keep any of your banking details. Please check our Privacy Policy.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We currently ship to countries worldwide. Please contact us and we will make every effort to ship you our teas and/or ceramics.

I have received a broken/damaged/wrong item from my order. What do I do?

We pack all of our products appropriately to withstand all conditions but cannot guarantee that it will arrive in perfect condition. Ahista Tea does not assume responsibility for reimbursement or compensation of merchandise damaged or lost in transit. In the event that your order arrives damaged, please contact our team at orders@ahistatea.com and we will try to resolve the issue.

What is the return policy?

Tea: Once purchased, we do not accept returns or refunds for our teas, unopened or otherwise. If we have made an error with your order, please contact us by phone or email and we will try to resolve the problem.

Ceramics: If you are not satisfied with an item within 7 days of delivery confirmation, we will accept a return and issue a refund. To return an item, please contact us for a return authorization within 7 days of delivery. We will not accommodate purchases that have been misused, altered, or otherwise damaged. Refunds are credited to the original form of payment for the purchase price, less shipping, once we receive the merchandise. Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping. Items returned without a return authorization and/or after our 7 day grace period will incur a restocking fee. 

Will I have to pay taxes or duties on my order?

All of our products will include a 5% VAT at checkout. Please note that customs and import duties may be applied to International orders when the shipment reaches its destination. Such charges are the responsibility of the recipient.
