'Bleu' which translates to blue in French reminds us of the starry night sky with subtle, tiny white freckles that emerge after firing a dark, iron-rich clay. A mix glaze of cobalt oxide (mineral oxide) is used for the deep blue colour, whereas the tin oxide gives the clay its tiny white freckles. You will notice a sharper, round bottom shape with a narrow defined body.
Each cup is fired at 1223 degrees Celsius / 2233 degrees Fahrenheit in an electric kiln. They tend to allow a wide colour range, are simple to load and fire, and much more efficient than ceramic kilns of any other type. It holds approximately 220mL.
'Bleu' includes a stamp of our logo on the bottom.
