Black Porcelain from Spain / Contemporary Ceramic / 2018
Approximate dimensions: 55mm (height) x 120mm (width)
This bowl is wheel-thrown by hand using no moulds with Spanish clay. It is unglazed with a matte appearance.
In particular, it is designed with a wider top for efficient cooling needed to maintain the infusion texture. Each bowl is fired at 700 degrees Celsius / 1300 degrees Fahrenheit in an electric kiln. They tend to allow a wide colour range, are simple to load and fire, and much more efficient than ceramic kilns of any other type.
Our artist concentrates on simple forms giving it a distinct edge of personality, charm and elegance when drinking loose leaf tea.
Drinking tea from a bowl is a hassle-free experience; but also deeply personal within many cultures. We suggest by warming the tea bowl, adding 0.5g tea leaves less than the recommended amount and then gradually fill it with water until the leaves have just opened.
'Noir' includes a stamp of the artist’s signature on the base.
