Creating custom cups and teaware for The Kumaon Hotel was a truly rewarding experience. Located in the beautiful Kumaon region of India, The Kumaon Hotel is surrounded by the stunning Himalayan mountains and Kumaon Hills, which served as a major inspiration for the design of our custom cups and teaware.

The process of creating custom cups and teaware for The Kumaon Hotel began with a consultation with the hotel owners, Raghav Priyadarshi and Vikrom Mathur, to discuss the overall aesthetic and theme of the hotel. The Kumaon Hotel is known for its luxury and rustic charm, and we worked with the team to create a design that would perfectly complement this atmosphere. The main objective was to create pieces with elegance in simplicity and to compliment the experiential aspects of nature, culture and culinary immersions.

 

Next, we turned our attention to materials and manufacturing. After careful consideration, we decided to go with high quality stoneware cups and grey tea brewing vessels and teapots to encapsulate the elevated, rustic setting.

Ceramics are a popular choice for cups and other pottery items due to their durability and versatility, and handmade ceramics offer the added benefit of being made by skilled artisans using traditional techniques. This means that each cup is unique and has its own character and charm.

Once the custom cups and teaware were manufactured, we worked with The Kumaon Hotel team to determine how they would be used in the hotel. The cups and teaware are primarily used in the common area, restaurant and during afternoon tea.

The Kumaon Hotel team were extremely happy with the final products and have continued to receive many positive comments from guests. Overall, creating custom cups and teaware for The Kumaon Hotel was a truly rewarding experience.
